Job description

Summary

Jack Henry is a financial services technology company that provides digital banking and payment solutions to community banks and credit unions. The Software Engineer III will design, develop, test, and modernize Windows and responsive web applications while resolving complex engineering challenges and collaborating across teams. The role also provides technical support, performs system analysis, and helps ensure reliable, secure, and maintainable software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution
  • Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require research and timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production
  • Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application
  • Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices
  • Uses best practices and standard guidance to create and modify code. Considers how code changes will affect end users and internal teams
  • Collaborates with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
  • Participates in cross team projects as needed
  • Works on critical tasks and deliverables with minimal assistance, and sets and updates expectations on size, scope, and timelines
  • May represent team in cross-team meetings and discussions
  • Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in the definition and documentation of standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Plans unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of developed software
  • Debugs and troubleshoots issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions
  • May perform other job duties as assigned

Skills

  • A minimum of 4 years of software development experience
  • Experience with Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience developing responsive web applications
  • Experience integrating UI applications with RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, debugging, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with Java, SQL and C#
  • Experience with Ionic or hybrid/mobile application development
