Job description

Summary

JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors working to improve access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. The Program Instructors Recruiter identifies, engages, and interviews prospective volunteer program instructors from colleges and universities, collaborates with internal teams to set up instructors, and helps develop the volunteer instructor training program.

Responsibilities

  • The Program Instructors Recruiter provides leadership, direction and planning to identify, reach out to and engage with College and universities of interest that could provide volunteer program instructors
  • The Program Instructors Recruiter is responsible for the Interviewing for the interviewing of the prospective program instructors
  • Uses a handshake to gather information about the candidates to be interviewed
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Team and the Community Engagement team for the proper setup of the program instructors
  • Volunteer Program Director and other stakeholders to develop and refine the volunteer instructor training program. (This is for COLE300, COLE.PIO team
  • Mandatory Meetings: Attend virtual team meetings weekly : (Sundays 5pm)

  • Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
  • Familiarity with the US college ecosystem and Gen Z or dealing with teenagers.young adults
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Experience in a recruitment or volunteer engagement function
  • Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization' with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
  • Familiarity with the US college ecosystem and Gen Z or dealing with teenagers.young adults
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Experience in a recruitment or volunteer engagement function
  • Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization' with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)

Benefits

  • Minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week
  • $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
  • Virtual team meetings weekly (Sundays 5pm)
