KARAMAH seeks a Communications Intern to assist our Communications team. Internship positions are unpaid; however, students may earn credit hours from their respective undergraduate or graduate schools or seek fellowships to fund their work with KARAMAH. College students who are available to volunteer 12 to 15 hours or more per week during the academic year, or a minimum of 30 hours during the summer, are eligible to apply. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Our internship program is designed to give interns full access to the academic, creative, and administrative operations at KARAMAH. Interns will have the opportunity to be involved in every department of our organization, gaining valuable experience and skills in program development and execution, research development, fundraising, communications, women’s rights, civil rights, and operations of a non-profit.
This is an ideal opportunity for a mature undergraduate or graduate student to gain meaningful experience at a DC-based NGO as well as exposure to the fields of Women’s Rights, Civil Rights, Islamic law, and leadership development. The Communications intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, which may include:
Please send a cover letter indicating when you are available to intern, and how many hours per week you are available. A full application includes a cover letter, resume, and a brief writing sample. Electronic submissions are preferred.
