Summary
Kinetic Communities Consulting Corporation (KC3) is a mission-driven consulting firm that partners with utilities, government agencies, affordable housing organizations, and community-based organizations to expand access to clean energy programs. The Energy Equity Marketing & Communications Intern will support outreach, marketing campaigns, communications materials, visual content creation, community events, and stakeholder engagement across clean energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and community initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of marketing, communications, and outreach materials for KC3 programs, events, and initiatives
- Draft content for newsletters, email campaigns, social media posts, presentations, and other communications channels
- Help translate clean energy, sustainability, and community engagement topics into clear, accessible, and engaging content for a variety of audiences
- Support the development and execution of communications strategies that increase awareness of KC3’s projects, services, and impact
- Create and update visual content using Canva and other graphic design tools, including flyers, infographics, newsletters, social media graphics, and event materials
- Support promotion of community events, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Participate in events, meetings, and outreach activities as appropriate, supporting communications, logistics, and follow-up efforts
- Help maintain KC3 marketing templates, branding standards, and communications resources
- Conduct research on marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and clean energy industry trends to support organizational initiatives
- Collaborate with staff across multiple teams and disciplines to support project goals and communications efforts
- Participate in mentorship, training, team meetings, and other professional development opportunities
Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism, digital media, advertising, business, or a related field
- Local to the New York City metropolitan area and able to attend occasional in-person meetings, events, and activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platforms
- Commitment to racial equity, housing justice, economic mobility, environmental justice, and community-centered approaches to problem solving

- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism, digital media, advertising, business, or a related field
