Job description
Summary
Lemartec Corporation, a MasTec company, is a general contractor and construction management firm serving industrial, aviation, power, and commercial markets. The Accountant manages accounts payable and receivable, records transactions, performs reconciliations, prepares journal entries and tax returns, and supports audits and compliance activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Bank Reconciliation
- Prepare and post Journal Entries
- Analyze and Reconcile Various GL Accounts and Prepare Month-end workpapers
- Review and process invoices
- Follow-up on invoice approvals
- Meet with Senior Accountant on a weekly basis for payment selection
- Prepare Sales and Use Tax Return
- Handle calls regarding Accounts Payable
- Reconciling vendor statements
- Post cash receipts
- Reconcile Credit Card Transactions
- Obtain and organize information for internal and external audits
- Understand SOX guidelines to ensure accurate controls and segregation of duties are in place to meet compliance
- Perform other work as required or assigned
Skills
- Experience with Sage 300 Construction Software
- Experience in the Construction industry
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Accounting
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills a must
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent a plus
