Summary
Monetary Metals is a high-growth gold platform that pays interest to savers, finances qualified businesses, and provides a marketplace for gold leases and bonds. The Staff Accountant will own and execute accounting processes, including accounts payable, bank transaction recording, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and audit support in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable:
+ Receive and validate invoices from vendors.
+ Obtain necessary internal approvals for invoice payments.
+ General upkeep of accounts payable in our accounting system.
+ Send remittances to vendors to ensure payments are applied correctly
- Bank Transactions:
+ Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly into the accounting system
- General Ledger Maintenance:
+ Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and updating financial transactions.
+ Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including proper classification and documentation of transactions
- Financial Reporting:
+ Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Audit Support:
+ Support external audit processes by providing documentation, reconciliations, explanations of accounting transactions, and addressing auditor inquiries
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2-4 years of accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accurate execution of responsibilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
