Summary
Mountainside is a behavioral healthcare provider dedicated to treating alcohol dependency and drug addiction. The Revenue Cycle Analyst manages client financial records, payments, insurance and authorization information, billing inquiries, and account resolution while partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to reduce financial barriers and maintain revenue integrity.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned self-pay worklist from admission through final account resolution
- Review and maintain accurate client financial records, including insurance coverage, authorizations, demographic information, and payment arrangements
- Process payments, refunds, adjustments, and account corrections in accordance with organizational policies
- Investigate and resolve self-pay balances, insurance discrepancies, payment issues, and billing inquiries in a timely manner
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial responsibility, payment options, insurance questions, and account resolution
- Educate clients and families regarding payment pages, insurance benefits, patient responsibility, and available payment options
- Monitor outstanding balances and perform proactive follow-up to reduce aging and improve collections
- Review accounts for billing accuracy and identify opportunities to resolve issues before they impact reimbursement or the client experience
- Ensure documentation within the billing system is accurate, complete, and reflects all account activity
- Assist with reconciliation of payments, deposits, and financial transactions as assigned
- Support audits and compliance initiatives by maintaining complete and accurate account documentation
- Identify trends, recurring issues, and workflow opportunities, escalating concerns to leadership as appropriate
- Serve as a client advocate by helping individuals navigate insurance and financial concerns throughout their episode of care
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, insurance companies, and internal departments to remove financial barriers to treatment whenever possible
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries while maintaining empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolution
Skills

- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare billing or revenue cycle management preferred
- Knowledge of insurance billing regulations and payer guidelines preferred
