  • Develop APIs and microservices that enable real-time claims intake, validation, adjudication, and servicing
  • Partner with product and claims operations teams to translate complex insurance processes into scalable, automated digital solutions
  • Implement resilient, highly available systems that ensure accuracy, compliance, and performance in claims processing
  • Contribute to and evolve reference architectures and engineering standards for serverless and distributed systems
  • Optimize systems for throughput, latency, and cost efficiency in a high-volume transaction environment
  • Continuously improve claims workflows by designing systems that reduce manual effort, errors, and processing time

Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience developing in TypeScript (Node.js ecosystem preferred)
  • Proven experience building solutions in AWS, especially serverless and event-driven architectures
  • Experience designing and building distributed systems, APIs, and microservices
  • Ability to model and optimize complex, transaction-heavy workflows (experience with claims or similar operational systems is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and engineer scalable solutions
  • Experience working in Agile environments with a product and customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate business processes into technical architecture
  • Passion for modern engineering practices including automation, observability, and DevOps
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
  • Deep experience with: AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, EventBridge
  • Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform)
  • Serverless frameworks and patterns
  • Experience with Java
  • Familiarity with insurance or healthcare claims systems (adjudication, eligibility, payments)
  • Experience building event-driven, decoupled systems at scale
  • Knowledge of data streaming, messaging systems, or workflow orchestration
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering standards
