Job description

Summary

Oklahoma State University Foundation is dedicated to transforming the university through generosity. The Technology Services and Security Intern provides and maintains technology solutions to support staff in cultivating philanthropic support for the university.

Responsibilities

  • Assist users by monitoring the ticket queue and responding to general support for tickets
  • Provide hands-on support for common hardware and software issues
  • Perform routine updates to operating systems and software to maintain system security, stability, and performance
  • Provide hands-on support for hardware setup and relocation
  • Installing printers, resolving common printer issues, and general printer maintenance
  • Assist with decommissioning computers and peripherals
  • Create and update user guides, FAQs, and internal documentation
  • Document processes and procedures

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in college with an emphasis in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent bachelor's degree program
  • Academic or practical experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, including software installation and configuration
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware repair
  • Intermediate knowledge of common PC applications including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Attention to detail
  • Cooperative attitude with a desire to learn
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Proven sense of humor and ability to have fun

  • Ability to travel locally and to other OSU or OSU Foundation locations, meetings, and university events, which may include walking on campus and navigating varied environments
  • Requires a valid driver's license
  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call hours as required to support system maintenance or critical issues
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to approximately 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of materials over 20 pounds
  • Experience with Apple products (iPad, iPhone, MAC)
