Backend Developer

Summary

OVA.Work is looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable server-side applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs
• Build scalable and reliable microservices and distributed systems
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and product teams
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions

Skills

• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or C#
• Experience with backend frameworks (Spring Boot, Express.js, Django, FastAPI, NestJS, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and API security
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar) is preferred
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2–5+ years of backend development experience (depending on the role level)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Knowledge of system design and distributed systems
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
