Summary
Pearson is an education and learning company seeking a Business Analytics Specialist to ensure business problems are clearly defined and data initiatives align with business objectives. The role elicits and analyzes requirements, documents processes and use cases, collaborates with technical teams, and supports testing and stakeholder communications throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation with stakeholders
- Analyze business processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Create and maintain:
- Business rules and requirements documentation
- Business use cases
- Process models
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are feasible
- Manage stakeholder communications and expectations
Skills
- Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience translating business processes into Agile requirements
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Familiarity with how to influence without authority
- Strong track record of consensus building and delivering value to the business
- Business acumen
- Experience working on data, reporting, BI, or data warehouse initiatives
- Experience in Jira and Confluence
- BA or BS degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role
- Knowledge of databases and reporting solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Business process mapping
- Data visualization tools
- ETL and data warehousing concepts
- Relevant IIBA, PMI, or Scrum Alliance certification preferred
