Job description

Summary

Pease Bell is a mid-sized accounting and advisory firm with national reach. As a Healthcare Cost Reporting & Reimbursement Intern, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience supporting Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and reimbursement compliance work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of Medicare & Medicaid cost reports and reimbursement compliance schedules
  • Organize and analyze financial and statistical data received from healthcare clients
  • Conduct basic research on healthcare reimbursement regulations and guidance
  • Communicate with team members to resolve open items and gather additional documentation
  • Prepare supporting workpapers in accordance with firm standards
  • Utilize cost reporting software and internal systems
  • Support the team in meeting important filing deadlines and client deliverables
  • The experience gained as an intern during "busy season" is the equivalent of a first-year associate

Skills

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Availability to work up to 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Progress towards CPA eligibility a plus, but not required
