Summary
Prometheum is building regulated market infrastructure that brings securities onto the blockchain through issuance, custody, clearing, and trading systems. The Software Engineer 1 will build and ship production software across the TypeScript/Node back end and React front end, while participating in code reviews, scrum ceremonies, testing, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Ship work across the stack, from bug fixes and small features to test coverage and tech debt, with support from senior engineers
- Use AI coding tools as a default part of your workflow, and review what they produce with the same rigor you would apply to your own code
- Trace real requests end-to-end (front end, API, services, database) and build a working mental model of how custody, clearing, and trading fit together
- Participate in code review, first as a learner asking questions, then as a reviewer who catches edge cases and test gaps
- Take part in all scrum ceremonies: refinement, sprint kick-off, standup, demos, and retro
- Work directly with Product, QA, and UX to clarify requirements, reproduce bugs, and ask design questions
- Investigate and resolve QA/UAT issues, pairing when you need to
