Software Engineer 2 (Full Stack)

Summary

Prometheum is building regulated market infrastructure that brings securities onto the blockchain. The company is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to own full-stack features end to end, from requirements and technical design through delivery, release, and production support, using TypeScript/Node.js and React. The role also involves collaboration with Product, QA, UX, and senior engineers, along with code review, testing, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Own epics end to end after handoff from Product, from story writing and pointing through delivery and release
• Build across our TypeScript/Node back end and React front end, taking on the large, complex problems in your team's scope
• Report progress on your epic regularly and accurately, and raise risks before they become surprises
• Partner with your Product Manager and senior engineers on technical design and architecture decisions
• Use AI coding tools as a default part of your workflow, and review what they produce with the same rigor you would apply to your own code
• Lead company-wide demos of the work your epic delivered
• Review teammates' code in a way that catches design concerns, edge cases, and test gaps
• Take part in all scrum ceremonies: refinement, sprint kick-off, standup, demos, and retro
• Work directly with Product, QA, and UX throughout delivery, not just at the handoff
• Investigate and resolve issues found in QA, UAT, and production

Skills

• 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software
• Strong TypeScript or JavaScript knowledge, with real depth in both Node.js and React
• A track record of carrying a substantial piece of work from ambiguous requirements to released software
• Comfort with relational databases, SQL, and reasoning about data models
• Experience with microservices, Docker, and a cloud platform such as AWS
• Automated testing as a habit rather than an afterthought
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, plus the judgment to know when their output is wrong
• Clear written communication with a strong command of the English language, which matters more on a fully remote team
• Able to reason through technical disagreements with evidence, and to update your view when the evidence shifts
• Authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
• Experience mentoring or onboarding other engineers
• Background in finance, brokerage, trading, custody, or blockchain
• Exposure to regulated environments and the audit trails they require
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar
