Job description

Summary

ProSidian Consulting is a Management and Operations Consulting Services Firm that provides tailored solutions to clients. They are seeking a Database Developer to support Navy Littoral Combat Ship Squadron duties by developing and maintaining database systems that enhance data-driven decision-making and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Metrics Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate operational needs into efficient database structures
  • Convert complex, spreadsheet-based processes into streamlined, multi-user databases using tools such as Microsoft Access, SharePoint, SQL, VBA, and HTML
  • Support Navy operations and leadership with robust data solutions for Preventive Maintenance (PMAV), Operational and Material Availability (Ao/Am), and Train to Qualify (T2Q) replacement Sailor readiness
  • Build clean, efficient, and scalable database systems that transform messy spreadsheets into actionable insights
  • Enable Database automation with user-friendly dashboards, ensuring data is digestible, decisions are data-driven, and operations stay mission-ready
  • Partner with analysts and SMEs, we translate real-world Navy challenges into seamless backend solutions
  • Build and maintain relational databases to centralize metrics tracking
  • Migrate legacy spreadsheet-based systems into automated platforms
  • Ensure that databases are secure, accessible, and easy to update by multiple users
  • Work directly with Maintenance Execution Teams, CNSL Class Advocates, and SMEs to understand process workflows and turn them into structured data models
  • Provide input on technical requirements during collaborative status and design meetings
  • Design user-friendly interfaces and reports that display data in intuitive formats: charts, graphs, and dashboards
  • Support Flag-level briefs and high-level Navy leadership with clear, data-driven insights

Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years in database development; skilled in business analysis tools and data automation platforms
  • Ability to build and maintain relational databases for centralized metrics tracking
  • Ability to migrate legacy spreadsheet systems into automated platforms
  • Experience Ensuring database security, accessibility, and multi-user functionality
  • Ability to collaborate with Maintenance Execution Teams and SMEs to model data workflows
  • Skillsets in creating user-friendly reports, dashboards, and charts
  • Ability to provide data-driven insights for Navy leadership
  • Ability to develop applications using Access, SharePoint, SQL, VBA, and HTML
  • Proficient in relational database design

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent military or commercial experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with database design and business analysis tools such as Access, SharePoint, SQL, VBA, and HTML
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; ability to support Flag-level briefs; experience automating data collection; knowledge of Navy operational metrics (PMAV, Ao/Am, T2Q); capacity for secure, scalable database solutions
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management
  • Outstanding time management and prioritization abilities to meet project milestones
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
