Summary
Qualus is a power solutions firm focused on power infrastructure transformation and related engineering, advisory, and technology-enabled services. The Project Finance Coordinator manages project expenses, billings, budgets, cost records, and month-end accounting close functions while investigating billing issues and providing financial forecasting. The role collaborates with project managers and accounting leadership to monitor profitability, cash flow, and compliance with accounting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee how projects earn revenue in the accounting system and provide monthly project earnings analysis
- Analyzes project cost reports and meets frequently with the Director of Finance and Project Managers to review status of projects for invoicing, profitability, earnings, costs, and cash flow
- Prepare and execute budgets for each project assigned
- Reconcile invoices to clients, vendors, or contractors
- Sets up and maintains projects in the accounting system according to contract terms
- Maintain an organized accounting system with several accounts while staying compliant with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
- Review contracts including amendments and agreements
- Serve as a liaison between Project Managers, Project Accountants, Leadership and the accounting team to ensure accuracy
- Monitor system for payments, purchase orders, invoices, and statements and follows up where necessary
- Assist with annual business plan
- Works independently to research and resolve financial issues
- Provide recommendations or commentary as needed
Skills
- Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years in accounting, preferably in a project-based environment
- Basic accounting principles, US GAAP
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
