Job description

Summary

Rate is one of the nation’s top retail mortgage lenders, delivering a seamless, tech-driven experience that helps customers reach their homeownership and financial goals. The Business Analyst, HRIS supports the delivery and continuous improvement of Workday and related HR technologies through requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation, testing, and delivery coordination. The role translates business needs into actionable requirements and supports technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements for Workday enhancements, issues, and projects
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation
  • Analyze current-state processes and document future-state requirements, identifying gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate requirements and process discussions with business and technology stakeholders
  • Maintain requirements, process documentation, decisions, and other functional artifacts throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Support backlog refinement by ensuring requests are complete, documented, and ready for technical evaluation and delivery
  • Partner with business and technical resources throughout design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Develop test scenarios and scripts; coordinate and execute functional testing, document defects, and support retesting and business acceptance
  • Track requirements, decisions, dependencies, issues, and action items through delivery and escalate risks or gaps as appropriate
  • Support release readiness, stakeholder communications, training, and change activities
  • Analyze business processes, recurring issues, and user feedback to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and improved user experience
  • Maintain documentation as business processes and system capabilities evolve

Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, HR technology, enterprise applications, project delivery, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements, processes, and test scenarios
  • Strong process analysis, documentation, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and work effectively across business and technology teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Workday or other enterprise HR technology
  • Knowledge of HR, Payroll, Benefits, or related business processes
  • Experience with process mapping, functional testing, Agile, or product-oriented delivery methodologies
  • Experience in a regulated or SOX-controlled environment
