Summary
Republic Services is an environmental services company providing recycling, waste, special waste, hazardous waste, and field services. The Field IT Engineer ensures effective IT operations at field locations by supporting networks, servers, applications, infrastructure, hardware, and VOIP systems while coordinating with field staff, vendors, and Corporate IT.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective level two support for WANs, LANs, field servers and specific field applications including on-call and on-site support/remediation as required
- Act as an effective liaison between field staff, management, vendors and Corporate IT
- Identify, implement and report proactive solutions that provide cost savings and/or improve operational efficiencies at field locations
- Participate in the installation, replacement, disposal of field computer hardware
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations
- Troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations including user add, changes and moves. Coordinate with 3rd party consultants as required
- Build, maintain and manage strong vendor relationships to coordinate the delivery of IT services including cabling, hardware, software and other IT supplies
- Provide timely reports on all activities as directed by management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Skills
- 4 years of computer network experience
- Experience with Cisco VOIP/UCCE
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- 2 - 4 years of experience supporting a decentralized IT environment, including end‑user systems, local infrastructure, and overall IT services
