Job description

Summary

Skyward builds software solutions for K-12 schools. The Data Migration Engineer designs, develops, and maintains solutions to migrate customer data from third-party platforms into Skyward software, while analyzing data, testing solutions, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that migrate data from external software into Skyward software
  • Analyze and interpret data from third-party software systems
  • Conduct code reviews and support high-quality development practices
  • Perform testing, including project and regression testing
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve products and processes
  • Collaborate directly with customers and other Skyward departments to ensure success of each data migration

Skills

  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or similar programming experience
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, and self-motivated approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time as business needs require
  • Experience in data analysis is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and Microsoft .NET/MS SQL stack is a plus
