Summary
Slavic401k is a retirement plan services company seeking an Analyst, Testing & Analytics to perform retirement plan compliance testing, employer contribution calculations, client-data analysis, and plan-document review. The role manages assigned workloads, communicates testing outcomes and corrective requirements, supports stakeholders, and contributes to process, reporting, documentation, control, and automation improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform annual non-discrimination testing, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 402(g), 415, and other required compliance testing based on plan provisions
- Review, analyze, and validate client data for completeness and accuracy to support compliance testing, plan analytics, and contribution calculations
- Research, interpret, and apply plan documents and ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements within established procedures, regulatory guidance, and departmental standards to determine testing requirements and corrective actions; escalate novel, ambiguous, or higher-risk matters to a Senior Analyst or department leadership
- Communicate testing results, annual expectations, deadlines, and corrective solutions professionally and accurately to internal stakeholders, account managers, clients, and partners
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for routine and moderately complex questions from internal stakeholders regarding assigned plan analytics, compliance testing processes, and employer-contribution work
- Manage assigned workload, ticket queues, and departmental reporting to ensure adherence to internal goals, regulatory deadlines, and service-level agreements
- Research, investigate, and resolve testing, data, and calculation questions while escalating concerns and providing guidance to management as needed
- Support the investigation and resolution of internal and external client inquiries and escalations related to compliance testing, analytics, and project work; resolve matters within established authority and escalate complex, sensitive, or higher-risk issues as appropriate
- Identify process-improvement opportunities and participate in approved procedure, workflow, reporting, control, and automation improvements by testing changes, documenting results, and providing implementation feedback
- Assist with maintaining process documentation, preparing IT or internal business requests, and supporting working groups or enterprise projects as assigned
- Remain current on ERISA, IRS, DOL, 401(k) Testing, and plan compliance rules and regulatory changes
- Perform employer profit sharing, matching, safe harbor, and discretionary contribution calculations using client data and Company systems
- Provide expertise and consulting with the design, administration and communication of annual employer profit sharing, matching, retro safe harbor, forfeiture and other employer contributions using data housed within company systems
- Collaborates closely with the plan analytics at-large team to manage an assigned caseload of profit sharing projections/calculations, proposals, reports, and, if necessary, revisions
- With support, demonstrates strong project management skills to manage the assigned profit sharing caseload in a timely and efficient manner
- With minimal guidance, applies advanced retirement plan knowledge to prepare projections, perform calculations, and design cost comparisons – including, but not limited to, cross-tested profiting sharing, matching, match true-ups, plan aggregation, and safe harbor
- Demonstrates a consultative approach toward plan designs with the client and focuses on client satisfaction, communication, and client retention
- Develops proposals for potential clients highlighting benefits, such as cost savings and tax advantages, of the plan design
- Occasionally, performs client consultations via video conference or over-the-phone
- During consultations, ensuring clients are fully informed of plan limits, rules, regulations, requirements, testing principles, etc
- Remains up-to-date on acceptable formulas used for calculating 401(k) profit sharing calculations
- Provide guidance to team members related to nuanced testing and plan analytics scenarios
- Cross-train on other compliance-related activities and provide assistance as needed, including 5500s and plan audits and related plan analytics support
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

- · Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and basic calculations

- · Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- · Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

- · Minimum 2+ years of 401(k), retirement plan, compliance testing, plan analytics, or related financial services experience required
- · 1+ year of client-facing or customer support experience in the financial services industry required
- · Intermediate Excel experience required
- · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business, or related field of study required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered where applicable
- · Ability to obtain ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) I within 6 months of hire and RPF II or equivalent certificate within 1 year of hire required, based on departmental requirements
