Summary
SQUAN is seeking a Project Manager to lead outside plant (OSP) engineering projects. The role is responsible for planning and coordinating projects, supervising design and engineering work, managing resources and subcontractors, ensuring quality, communicating with stakeholders, mitigating risks, and maintaining project documentation and reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for OSP engineering projects
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for project planning
- Supervise the OSP engineering team in creating detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements
- Review and approve engineering designs and modifications
- Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project objectives
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring their work aligns with project requirements and quality standards
- Implement quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of OSP engineering designs and installations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess project progress and quality of work
- Maintain clear and open communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members throughout the project lifecycle
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays
- Proactively address issues as they arise, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and technical documentation
- Generate regular status reports for internal and external stakeholders
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in OSP engineering and project management, preferably in the telecommunications or utility industry
- Strong knowledge of outside plant design principles, fiber optics, and telecommunications infrastructure
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in project management software tools
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus
