Summary
The Squires Group, Inc. is recruiting for a growing public accounting firm seeking an experienced Tax Associate (CPA). The role prepares and reviews individual and business tax returns, supports tax planning and compliance, resolves client tax issues, and maintains client relationships while contributing to practice growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Work directly with clients to gather information and address tax-related questions
- Review financial data and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with tax planning and tax compliance activities
- Research and resolve client tax issues as needed
- Maintain strong client relationships through timely and professional communication
- Collaborate with firm leadership and staff to support client service initiatives
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice
Skills
- Our client is seeking an experienced **Tax Associate (CPA)** to join their growing public accounting firm
- This role is located in Annapolis, and is open to remote candidates, preferably within driving distance
- Our client is currently unable to offer sponsorship
- * Active CPA license required
- * 3-5 years of public accounting and tax preparation experience
- * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- * Experience preparing, reviewing, and signing individual and business tax returns
- * Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- * Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills
- * Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-firm environment
- * QuickBooks experience preferred
