Accountant II, VIP Petcare

Summary

Tractor Supply Company is hiring an Accountant II for VIP Petcare. The role is responsible for processing journal entries, analyzing general ledger activity, completing account reconciliations and monthly close activities, responding to financial reporting inquiries, and supporting internal controls and audits.

Responsibilities

• Create and update moderately complex allocations and accrual analyses via review of general ledger activity and communication with key contacts in other departments; prepare journal entries that support accurate and complete financial statements; maintain all support necessary
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations via analysis and review of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness of amounts/balances
• Review monthly income statement and balance sheet activity to identify unusual trends or variances and provide detailed explanations for significant items observed
• Research and respond to any questions that arise from executive or department management during the financial statement review process
• Ensure internal control documentation as well as department policies and procedures are updated as needed based on changes in accounting processes
• Assist with providing information and responding to inquiries from the Company's Internal and External Audit functions

Skills

• 2+ years of experience in an industry accounting, public accounting or internal auditing role
• Knowledge of SEC requirements, GAAP and new accounting pronouncements
• Ability to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completion
• This positions is an onsite role in Brentwood, TN or remote position for someone residing in the Boise, ID area

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred from an accredited college or university
• Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or CPA candidate preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• SAP enterprise software and/or Business Objects reporting software preferred
