Summary
UnitedHealth Group is a healthcare organization that delivers care supported by technology. The Accounting Consultant supports general ledger activities, financial analysis, reporting, financial close, audit processes, business integrations, and accounting compliance with GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Aid in special project management and completion
- Assist with various internal system and external business integrations (e.g., acquisitions, billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable)
- Working directly with business partners to interpret accounting impacts of business decisions
- Performing general ledger review, account reconciliations and analysis, and journal entry preparation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Preparing documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Developing innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Skills
- Bachelors degree in Accounting including a solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement interaction
- 3+ years of Accounting experience including month-end close, preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Proven to be a self-starter and solid time management
- Proven to be organized and able to work on multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proven solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven to anticipate customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
- CPA designation
- Experience with Peoplesoft Financials, Hyperion SmartView and Blackline
- Public accounting experience
- Technical accounting experience, including ASC606
- Healthcare experience
