Job description

Position Summary: Join the University of Dayton Research Institute's cutting-edge Autonomy Systems division and help shape the future of intelligent systems technology. This entry level position will be responsible for working, as part of a skilled technical team, to write and test software in high level languages, and to develop and test signal processing algorithms from concept to implementation. Minimum Qualifications:

1. Completed Bachelor's Degree before starting2. Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers such as Netbeans, Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar3. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) developing software using C, C++ or Java4. Experience with development of software related to PNT systems5. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen and cannot hold dual citizenship6. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science2. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) programming in algorithm level languages such as Matlab/Simulink, Python or similar3. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) with parallel programming using languages such as OpenCL and/or CUDA4. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems5. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) installing, configuring, and working in Windows and Linux environments6. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) developing software applications specifically designed for use in multi platform (e.g. Windows and Linux) environments7. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) with source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar8. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) with software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or similar9. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills10. Professional experience as an intern or co-op or full-time employee in a field related to software development11. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
