Summary
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a cancer care, research, education, and prevention institution seeking an EHR Systems Analyst to support its Clinical Access Revenue System department. The role serves as a primary support contact between end users and the EHR team, configuring and maintaining Epic systems, optimizing clinical and revenue cycle workflows, resolving issues, and implementing system enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Obtain Epic certification within 180 days of hire and maintain required certifications
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain build and testing standards with SME or governance signoff
- Follow IS division best practices and institutional policies, procedures, and standards
- Prepare documentation for implementation of enhancements or new technology
- Follow documented change control processes
- Perform quality control and testing to ensure solutions are technically sound
- Implement and prioritize requested system changes or projects in a timely manner
- Maintain and troubleshoot EHR system build
- Modify Epic content based on project team direction
- Participate in implementation and optimization efforts with appropriate approvals
- Analyze system configurations with a focus on patient safety
- Perform medium-risk or moderately complex system maintenance
- Complete routine revisions to meet build metrics
- Provide functional expertise with clinical workflow understanding
- Provide technical expertise in system design and development
- Provide customer support and resolve technical and workflow issues
- Respond to requests promptly while communicating expectations and timelines
- Participate in after-hours application support and downtime procedures
- Develop knowledge of assigned applications to improve troubleshooting
- Facilitate issue resolution with Epic technical support
- Collect information on system enhancements and workflow improvements
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and OneIS to deliver effective solutions
- Collaborate with senior analysts to expand technical and business knowledge
- Attend meetings, participate in workgroups, and serve on committees as needed
- Deliver innovative, quality, and sustainable IT solutions and services
- Promote trust, respect, support, and honesty with customers and team members
