Intern (Career Exploration Program)

Job Summary

The Zachry Corporation Career Exploration Program for Dreamers is for students with interest in engineering/technology and would like to find out what opportunities are available for them in the construction industry. Participants of this 8-week program will explore new ways of collecting, analyzing and distributing the data through research programs that will be used on future projects.

Essential Functions

• Leveraging the IOT (Internet of Things) using raspberry pi sensors built by the students using 3D printers
• Data capture with Smart Glasses, laser scanners, unmanned aerial vehicles and 360 cameras.
• Integrated Information delivery and collaboration with Bluebeam, augmented reality, mixed reality, enhanced reality and virtual reality.
• Mind mapping, task management, team-based problem solving, estimating and CPR first aid certification
• Finalize the as-built cad files for the Falfurrias project that was visited last year.
• Conversational AI developed on the Open source RASA Framework for implementing a project locator to field personnel. 
• Develop a platform and program for ortho-mosaic mapping using an Open Source toolset and framework to process UAS data captured for large scale horizontal projects.
• Build a robot arm from 3D printed parts and use ROS to program arm to perform tasks.
• Create models in Civil 3D and InfraWorks to be used in TwinMotion and Unreal Engine for virtual reality experiences and training.

Required Skills & Experience

• Currently enrolled in high school or recent graduate
• Commitment to an 8-week program
• Strong interest in engineering/technology
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented
