Job description

Summary

ALS is a global scientific testing company providing data-driven laboratory services across environmental and other industries. The Regional Sales Representative will develop regional sales strategies, build client relationships, generate new business, and promote environmental and industrial hygiene laboratory testing services across the Eastern and Southern United States.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets for Industrial Hygiene and Environmental laboratory services
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Identify, prospect, and generate new business opportunities across a wide range of diverse sectors
  • Collaborate with laboratory operations, project managers, and customer service teams at the Salt Lake City lab to ensure high-quality service delivery and timely resolution of client concerns
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations, proposals, and service agreements tailored to customer needs
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Industrial Hygiene and Environmental testing methods, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates using CRM tools. • Represent ALS at regional conferences, trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity to identify opportunities and recommend strategic adjustments
  • Travel throughout the region as needed (typically 25–50%)
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • 3+ years of sales experience, ideally within environmental services, laboratory testing, or a related technical field
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand technical laboratory testing services and explain them to clients
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience selling analytical laboratory testing services (e.g., industrial hygiene, water, soil, air, PFAS, hazardous waste)
  • Existing network within environmental consulting, engineering, industrial hygiene, or industrial sectors
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers
  • Must be able to see and read technical reports
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively to Operate a computer o Communicate by telephone and video conference to Drive and/or travel to client locations and attending conferences and trade shows
  • The employee may occasionally be required to stand or walk for extended periods during client visits or industry events and transport sales or presentation materials
  • To be eligible to work at ALS you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Business, or related field preferred
  • Preferred familiarity with EPA, OSHA, NPDES, and state-specific environmental regulations
