Job description

Summary

Amrize’s Gaco team provides building envelope solutions designed to adhere, seal, and protect buildings. The Architecture & Engineering Representative will drive brand preference and increase product specification rates by partnering with architects, engineers, specifiers, and building envelope consultants. The role involves identifying opportunities, delivering education, providing technical support, tracking projects, and engaging with industry organizations and events.

Responsibilities

  • Identify target projects and design firms where Gaco is not currently specified, strategically positioning Gaco building envelope solutions to maximize overall specification rates
  • Monitor specification hit rates and systematically track projects through the bidding and procurement phases to prevent substitutions and ensure specifications hold
  • Maintain, update, and deliver existing AIA continuing education (CEU) programs to architectural and engineering firms
  • Develop new, compelling educational presentations for emerging product categories, including Air & Vapor Barriers (AVB) and Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) systems
  • Educate and train the internal sales team on utilizing architectural assets, technical tools, and CEU content to drive local market growth
  • Utilize Lead-generation platforms (e.g., Dodge Data, ConstructConnect) to mine for early-stage commercial and new construction opportunities
  • Proactively engage specifying architects and design professionals during the schematic design (SD) and design development (DD) phases to integrate Gaco into baseline project specifications
  • Serve as the trusted technical resource for the design community, providing expert guidance on detail drawings, custom specification writing, and submittal reviews
  • Resolve complex architectural queries to ensure seamless integration of Gaco systems into project construction documents
  • Maintain an active, visible presence in key industry associations, including the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the International Building Performance Institute (IIBEC)
  • Attend, network at, and present during regional and national trade shows, symposiums, and industry roundtables
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in architectural sales, technical specification consulting, or building envelope product representation
  • Deep understanding of commercial building envelope systems, roofing, waterproofing, Air & Vapor Barriers (AVB), and liquid-applied membranes (PMMA/Silicone/Urethane)
  • Proficiency with Dodge Data/ConstructConnect, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), AutoCAD/BIM/Revit (viewing/editing details), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to large audiences and senior design principals
  • Willingness to travel [e.g., 30–50%] for client meetings, firm presentations, and industry events
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
