Summary
Ascension is a nonprofit Catholic health system dedicated to service, growth, care, and connection. The Revenue Integrity Analyst will conduct hospital chart reviews and clinical documentation audits, translate medical records into validated charge data, identify charge leakage, and present findings for corrective action. The role also supports charge structure maintenance, workflow standardization, compliant billing, training, and reporting on revenue integrity performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform targeted hospital chart reviews and clinical documentation audits within Cerner EHR, translating complex medical records and treatment plans into validated, audit-ready charge data
- Intersect clinical records with revenue cycle operations to identify charge leakage, present actionable findings for corrective action, and design technical revenue integrity training programs
- Partner with Charge Description Master (CDM) management teams to maintain charge structures, establish standardized clinical department workflows, and ensure compliant billing practices
- Manage tracking and reporting architectures to monitor charge capture performance, regulatory and legislative updates, and the financial impact of revenue integrity initiatives
Skills
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
- Heavy clinical background with demonstrated mastery in interpreting complex medical records, physician documentation, and inpatient/outpatient treatment plans during chart audits
- Hands-on experience in hospital revenue cycle operations, specifically charge capture workflows, billing compliance, and Cerner EHR system functionality
