Job description
Summary
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to residents across Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. The Network Engineer will design, install, and maintain network systems, independently manage projects, resolve complex network issues, and improve network efficiency, performance, and security.
Responsibilities
- The Network Engineer shall be responsible to design, install, and maintenance of network systems
- This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role
Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar or related role required; however, candidates with an equivalent combination of experience, education, certification, and demonstrated proficiency in a similar or related role will also be considered
- Advanced knowledge of network architecture and engineering practices
- Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and managing network equipment
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good leadership abilities and effective communication skills
- Experience with network security practices and network optimization techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and documentation
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project activities simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing technologies and business needs
- Accepts ownership and welcomes responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in a field of study relevant to the current position
- One or more current, industry standard certifications preferred (CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network +, CCNA, CCNP, etc.)
