Job description

Summary

BioRender is launching the Product Builder role designed for scientists and researchers ready to build products full time. The role involves owning product discovery, prototyping new features, and taking ideas from concept to user interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Own discovery for your product area: identify unmet needs, and turn insights into a clear point of view on what to build
  • Prototype new features and ideas yourself using AI-assisted tools like Claude, Cursor, or similar
  • Ship things. Take ideas from concept to something real users are interacting with

Skills

  • A background in biology, life sciences, or a related research field
  • Genuine familiarity with BioRender — you've used it, you have opinions about it
  • Comfort with AI coding tools — you don't need to be a software expert but you've built a product that people use and spend your free time tinkering in Claude code and have collaborated with others via Github
  • Something you've built: a script, a tool, a side project, a vibe-coded experiment that actually worked
  • Curiosity, scrappiness, and the ability to move from idea to prototype quickly
