Summary
Bosun is an established minority-owned insurance defense litigation firm serving major insurance carriers and their insureds. The firm is seeking a paralegal to support attorneys across all phases of insurance defense litigation, including legal document preparation, discovery, case file management, scheduling, research, and court deadline compliance for New Jersey matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and motions
- Assist with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Gather, review, and summarize medical records, accident reports, and other case related documents
- Maintain and organize case files, discovery databases, and document productions
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed
- Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with filing requirements in New Jersey State and Federal courts
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies and/or paralegal certificate required
- Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey State court rules, procedures, and e filing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to prioritize, multi task, and meet deadlines in a high volume practice
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies and/or paralegal certificate required
