Field Engineer in Training (EIT)

Summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC is a supplier of power generation repairs, services, and parts. The Field Engineer in Training will spend approximately two years learning field engineering and maintenance practices under senior mentors before performing billable assignments, supporting inspections, technical direction, repairs, troubleshooting, alignments, outage planning, and turbine-generator operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspection of turbine / generator components
• Technical Direction
• Review of turbine inspection data
• Repair supervision
• Troubleshooting
• Rotor and Steam path alignment
• Outage Schedule tracking / manpower tracking
• Labor supervision
• Outage Planning
• Customer in Training
• Assisting start-up engineers with system check outs after outages, monitoring turbine operation
• Assisting with turbine laser alignment
• Vibration analysis and balancing turbine generators

Skills

• * BS Engineering degree
• * Strong understanding of power generation equipment and related support systems
• * Person must be able to work in an industrial environment
• This job requires extensive travel within the US, and on occasion outside the US for short periods
• This is a full-time position
• Location: Position is based in Latham, NY but relocation is not required
• * Prior experience working on power generation equipment, automobiles and related systems, industrial equipment, or shipboard work experience
• * Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• * Project Management experience
• * Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
