Summary
Family Care Center is a behavioral health provider focused on transforming lives through outpatient care for patients, service members, Veterans, and their families. The Patient Access Coordinator manages patient registration, documents demographic and health information, schedules appointments, supports outreach, and delivers customer service while meeting department metrics and quality goals.
Responsibilities
- Handles a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls and facilitates a positive customer/patient experience
- Accurately documents patient or client comprehensive demographic and health information into the electronic health record system
- Handles scheduling of appointments based on intake assessments and provider matrix
- Engages in outreach activities, which may include responding to emails, follow up calls to patients, payors, military contacts and providers
- Provides excellent customer service including supporting patients, families, internal and external customers
- Meets established Patient Access department metrics and quality goals
- Other duties as assigned by management
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year customer service or call center experience required with emphasis in healthcare preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance or medical billing preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Continually required to sit. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Continually required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move more than 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Associates degree in Health Administration or related field preferred
- One year customer service or call center experience required with emphasis in healthcare preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance or medical billing preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
