Job description

Summary

HarmonyTech is seeking a Microsoft Certified Solutions Junior SharePoint Developer to support a federal government modernization program. The role builds and maintains SharePoint Framework components, Power Platform solutions, pages, and templates while handling development tickets, accessibility remediation, testing, deployments, documentation, and agile team participation under the direction of a Senior SharePoint Developer.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts and extensions in TypeScript and React under the direction of the Senior SharePoint Developer (SOW Section 5)
  • Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for smaller requests where a low-code approach is the appropriate answer
  • Configure and build out SharePoint Online pages, templates, lists, libraries and content types to support agency requirements
  • Implement responsive, mobile-friendly page and component behavior and verify it on mobile form factors
  • Resolve assigned ServiceNow development tickets within the response and resolution targets for their priority, recording disposition on the ticket
  • Write all new code to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Levels A and AA, and remediate accessibility defects in existing components as assigned
  • Run automated accessibility and code quality scans before submitting work for review, and correct findings before requesting review
  • Write and execute unit tests; support the QA engineer in regression testing and deployment verification
  • Support deployments across Development, Test and Production inside approved maintenance windows, and support back-out execution when invoked
  • Use Git and the program’s CI/CD pipelines for all source control and deployment activity
  • Document assigned applications, components and content for reference in the Microsoft Office formats the SOW mandates, and keep that documentation current as the work changes
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and demonstrate completed work at sprint review

Skills

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Two or more years of professional software development or SharePoint configuration experience, including at least one year working with SharePoint Online or the Power Platform
  • JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript; working familiarity with React; HTML5 and CSS
  • Familiarity with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Node.js and Gulp build tooling, or a demonstrated ability to become productive in them quickly
  • SharePoint Online site and list configuration: lists, libraries, content types, columns, views, permissions and modern pages
  • Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse
  • REST API concepts; exposure to the SharePoint REST API or Microsoft Graph
  • Git-based source control and pull request workflow
  • Awareness of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA requirements, with a willingness to be trained to the required testing methods
  • Clear written and verbal communication with teammates and with Government stakeholders
  • Microsoft fundamentals certification: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field
  • Prior experience in a Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC or GCC High) tenant

  • Experience integrating SharePoint with Power BI reporting and with financial, budget or acquisition systems
