Job description

Summary

Haystack is a leading enterprise in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, renowned for delivering responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions. They are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to develop and enhance complex software systems and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on backend software development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics on real-time systems
  • Utilize DevOps tools like GitLab for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on RF simulation system backend software development
  • Participate in test, staging, and production deployments to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Configure and manage Linux and Windows operating systems, troubleshoot, and implement system enhancements
  • Debug problems during the integration of threat models in a collaborative environment

Skills

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 3 years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of overall relevant experience without a degree
  • Experience writing object-oriented code in C++
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Experience with both Linux and Windows software development environments
  • Knowledge of cyber-secure software development principles
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required)
