Summary
HDR is an employee-owned engineering company focused on building engineering services and infrastructure design. The Mechanical EIT/Coordinator coordinates mechanical aspects of commercial and institutional projects, performs HVAC and plumbing engineering design, prepares construction documents, and supports project coordination and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
- Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
- Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections
- Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
- Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
- Perform other duties as needed
Skills
- • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)
- • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
- • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
- • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- • Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
- • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
- • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
