Job description

Summary

Helpside provides payroll, HR, workers’ compensation, and benefits solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. The HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on employment law compliance, HR practices, benefits, performance management, policies, and complex employee relations matters.

Responsibilities

  • Own the client relationship with assigned clients of Helpside
  • Work as a trusted business partner and consultant for our clients on HR related issues and employee relations matters
  • Maintain an effective level of multi-state HR literacy to coach on HR legal updates and changes, including requests for accommodation or leave triggering FMLA, ADA, PDA, PWFA, PUMP Act, and applicable state laws)
  • Train on and deliver accurate benefits information to our clients
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to client leaders on coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions
  • Provide HR policy guidance, creation and review
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues—conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations

Skills

  • Minimum of one to three years' experience in HR
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, leave and accommodation, recruiting, and federal and state employment laws
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certified preferred

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Minimum of one to three years' experience in HR
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, leave and accommodation, recruiting, and federal and state employment laws
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice to Haves

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certified preferred
