Summary
Jacoby & Meyers Accident & Injury Lawyers is a personal injury law firm focused on helping clients obtain justice and compensation. The Litigation Assistant - Discovery works directly with clients, prepares discovery responses and legal documents, manages case files and communications, and supports attorneys throughout litigation.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients to obtain information/prepare discovery responses
- Prepare and send out supplemental discovery responses as needed
- Manage incoming emails, regular mail, and faxes
- Maintain and update file management software
- Provide clients with regular status updates during litigation
- Follow up with clients regarding settlement release(s)
- Draft various legal documents and judicial forms as requested from handling attorney
- Generate weekly/monthly reports for team meetings
- Prepare discovery binders for senior trial attorneys
- Other duties as requested by lead trial attorneys
Skills
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience with depositions, templates, motions on Plaintiff side
- At least 2-5 years of Personal Injury litigation experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle large volume of cases and multiple cases at a time
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
- Paralegal Certification is a plus
- Prior experience with Google Suite is a plus
