Summary
March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies. The Manager of Evaluation serves as the primary evaluator for programs and initiatives, designing and implementing mixed-methods evaluations, analyzing data, and translating findings into actionable recommendations. The role also provides technical assistance, supports data systems, and disseminates evaluation results through reports, presentations, and publications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement evaluation activities across a range of programs and initiatives
- Develop evidence-based logic models, evaluation plans, and tools tailored to various contexts
- Conduct and analyze mixed-methods data to assess needs, reach, process, and outcomes
- Lead data collection, cleaning, and quality assurance efforts with strong methodological rigor
- Collaborate with internal teams to align evaluation with program goals and integrate findings
- Support the development of internal data tracking systems to monitor outputs and outcomes
- Produce clear, actionable reports and presentations using effective data visualization techniques
- Present and publish evaluation findings internally and externally
- Provide evaluation training and technical assistance to staff to build internal capacity
- Foster a learning culture by sharing insights and best practices across teams
- Stay current on evaluation trends and apply innovative, equity-centered approaches
- Translate evaluation findings into recommendations that drive program improvement and strategic decisions
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program evaluation
- Experience designing and conducting mixed-methods evaluations
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to maternal and infant health equity
- Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative software (e.g., SAS, PowerBI, HyperResearch, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual collaboration tools
- Experience developing logic models, evaluation plans, and data collection instruments
- Strong technical writing and data visualization skills
- Familiarity with data equity principles and community-based evaluation
- Ability to synthesize complex findings into clear, compelling recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build trust and credibility with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Master's degree in Public Health from an accredited program, or related field
- Preferably in public health or nonprofit settings
