Summary
Megaport is a global Network as a Service company that helps businesses connect to cloud providers, data centers, and one another. The Account Manager will coordinate sales operations, server deployments, billing, account maintenance, and customer growth opportunities while working across Sales, Technical, and Operations teams in a pod model.
Responsibilities
- Unblock Sales: They handle the "paperwork and chores" so the Sales team can focus 100% on closing new deals
- Faster Delivery: They push the internal buttons to make sure customers get their servers turned on quickly, not weeks later
- Zero Billing Drama: They fix invoice and payment issues before they become big headaches for the customer
- Spot Easy Upgrades: Since they are close to the customer, they’ll notice when someone needs a bigger plan and flag the win
- Order in the House: They keep our systems (CRM/Billing) clean so we actually know what’s happening as we scale
- Sales Enablement: Act as the operational right hand for Sales Executives, managing quotes, pricing, and account updates to keep the sales cycle moving
- Account Growth: Proactively identify expansion opportunities and suggest additional capacity or services that add tangible value to the customer’s infrastructure
- Operational Coordination
- Project Orchestration: Coordinate server provisioning, migrations, and upgrades by working closely with internal technical teams to ensure perfect execution
- Delivery Excellence: Track all deployments from start to finish, ensuring internal systems (CRM, tickets) stay accurate, and customers are notified of completion
- Revenue Operations: Configure billing plans (hourly, monthly, or annual) and serve as the first point of contact for invoice queries or plan adjustments
- Lifecycle Management: Handle account maintenance, including credits and cancellations, ensuring all changes follow company guidelines and maintain data integrity
- The Pod Engine: Operate as a central figure in our "POD" model, collaborating daily with Sales, Solution Architects, and Ops to streamline the customer journey
- Continuous Improvement: Follow established processes while contributing fresh ideas to help us scale more efficiently
- Technical Mastery: Actively build your knowledge of cloud infrastructure, bare metal, and global networking services
