G/L Accountant

Summary

Nabis is a licensed cannabis wholesale platform supplying cannabis products to retailers across the United States. The G/L Accountant will perform account reconciliations, prepare the general ledger for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, support annual audits, and contribute to accounting process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support the period-end close procedures though the performance of balance sheet reconciliations, recording of adjusting journal entries, and completion of other accounting tasks as assigned
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and ensure its compliance with GAAP
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
• Proactively review current procedures and seek opportunities to improve upon current workflows
• Prepare balance sheet and Profit and Loss statement variance analysis for financial reporting
• Assist with annual audit preparations
• Focus areas: reconciliation between Accounting Services platform and accounting system (currently QBO), offboarding Brands, account reconciliations, adhoc reporting as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting roles (a combination of public and private experience is preferred)
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and other accounting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Process improvement and project management skills preferred
