Summary
OSC Technical Solutions is part of OSC Global, a strategic parent organization delivering advanced IT, cybersecurity, software and systems engineering, enterprise management, and professional services to federal, state, and commercial clients. The Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations, month-end close, general ledger integrity, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements. The role also supports government contract accounting, intercompany reconciliations, labor distributions, audits, and project accounting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, OSCG policies, government contracting requirements and applicable regulatory standards
- Support DCAA audits and financial statement audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Maintain fixed assets ledger, depreciation schedules, and prepaid expenses
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and project accounting functions as needed
- Record and reconcile intercompany labor, shared service and overhead allocations
- Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations
- Assist with consolidation and elimination of entries between affiliated entities
- Ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances
- Reconcile payroll, benefits, taxes, and labor distributions
- Support labor transfers and project labor adjustments
- Review timesheet compliance and process labor
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- At least one year in government contracting or public accounting
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support project deadlines, deployments, outages and critical business needs
- Must have ability to pass a background screening
- Must be U.S. Citizen
- Strong knowledge of government contracting financial structures, cost accounting, and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial data and records to support business operations and decision-making
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, generally accepted accounting principles and reporting standards including thorough understanding of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and general ledger
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and technical communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and communicate complex financial information to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to self-motivate and be proactive in exercising sound judgment, solving complex problems, managing competing priorities and performing effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information
