Job description
Summary
Pacific Office Automation is the largest independently owned document imaging and technology dealer in the nation, seeking a Field Network Technician to join their service team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems and office technology solutions while collaborating with clients to provide effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network connectivity, security systems, and Wi-Fi networks
- Provide support for Windows server environments and desktop operating systems
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site
- Collaborate with clients and vendors, translating technical concepts for non-technical users
- Lead client discovery conversations to assess needs and recommend solutions
- Document service activity, solutions, and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Travel locally to client sites as needed
Skills
- Previous experience in a network field technician or similar role
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SMB, ports)
- Experience supporting Windows desktop environments and Microsoft applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proven problem-solving ability and strong initiative
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience working in managed IT services environments
- Familiarity with Mac OS systems
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Basic knowledge of VoIP systems
