Job description

Summary

PROENERGY is an engineering, research and development, and manufacturing company providing fast-start power generation solutions. The Sourcing Expeditor drives supplier execution and timely delivery of materials, components, and services for new product introduction, production, and customer project schedules. The role manages supplier relationships, monitors production progress, resolves delivery risks, and develops recovery plans through extensive supplier-site engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier schedule execution and delivery performance
  • Conduct regular supplier visits to verify production status, monitor progress against commitments, and identify potential delivery risks
  • Drive recovery plans for late or at-risk materials through direct engagement with supplier management and operations teams
  • Escalate critical supply issues and coordinate corrective actions to protect project and production schedules
  • Facilitate priority changes and expedite requests based on business and customer requirements
  • Monitor supplier capacity, resource constraints, and operational challenges that could impact delivery performance
  • Partner with sourcing, engineering, quality, and project teams to support NPI program execution
  • Ensure supplier readiness and material availability to meet prototype, pilot, and production launch schedules
  • Monitor critical path components and proactively identify schedule risks that could impact NPI milestones
  • Support supplier development activities necessary to achieve launch readiness and delivery commitments
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and supplier leadership
  • Conduct supplier business reviews focused on delivery performance, risk mitigation, and schedule adherence
  • Provide on-site support to suppliers to remove barriers impacting production and shipment schedules
  • Advocate for business priorities while fostering collaborative supplier partnerships
  • Support sourcing and purchasing teams by obtaining supplier order acknowledgments, validating delivery commitments, and ensuring supplier understanding of schedule requirements
  • Assist buyers in resolving schedule discrepancies, commitment changes, and supplier execution issues
  • Maintain accurate supplier status updates and communicate schedule changes to internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with suppliers to align delivery commitments with project and production requirements
  • Work closely with Sourcing, Project Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to resolve supply chain challenges
  • Participate in project reviews and provide updates on supplier performance, delivery status, and identified risks
  • Support logistics and transportation efforts when expedited shipments are required to support business objectives
  • Identify supply chain risks before they impact production or customer delivery commitments
  • Develop and communicate mitigation plans for critical material shortages and supplier delays
  • Maintain reporting on supplier delivery performance, critical shortages, and schedule recovery efforts
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supplier delivery reliability and operational performance

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, manufacturing, project management, operations, or supply chain execution
  • Experience working directly with external suppliers in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to travel extensively and work independently in supplier-facing environments
  • Travel: 80%+ domestic and international travel
  • Candidates should be comfortable spending extended periods at supplier facilities, conducting production readiness reviews, validating manufacturing progress, and driving recovery actions to ensure successful execution of company objectives
  • Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) or new product launch programs
  • Experience in power generation, industrial equipment, engineered products, manufacturing, or project-based industries
  • Background in supplier development, supplier quality, manufacturing operations, or strategic sourcing
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier recovery plans and schedule-driven projects
