Summary
Progressive Insurance is seeking an accountant to support its Corporate HR Systems and Control team. The role manages purchase orders and invoicing for company benefits plans, oversees the employee benefits allocation process, prepares monthly journal entries, and performs month-end reconciliations for tax liabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all purchase orders and invoicing related to our company benefits plans and the employee benefits allocation process
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to the company benefits plans
- Complete month end account reconciliations for local, state, and federal tax liabilities
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting and a minimum of two years of accounting work experience
- This is a remote role requiring occasional travel for meetings and/or training

- Experience with employee benefits accounting

- Highly proficient and comfortable with extensive use of Excel
- Experience coaching and mentoring lower-level accounting staff or interns
