Engineer III - Overhead Transmission Line Design

Summary

Qualus is a power solutions firm focused on power infrastructure transformation and engineering services. The Engineer III will design overhead transmission lines and create construction drawings for projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV, while performing structural and foundation design, transmission line modeling, right-of-way calculations, and vendor submittal reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV)
• Perform structural analysis and design, perform foundation designs
• Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings
• Review vendor submittals

Skills

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school
• 4-6 years of experience in overhead transmission design
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MFAD or similar
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, having high attention to detail
• Great communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers
• Great computer skills
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Must possess valid driver's license
• PE license is a plus

Qualifications
