Summary
SPT Labtech is a company that transforms the way scientists work by providing innovative solutions for liquid handling and sample management. They are seeking a self-motivated Field Service Engineer to manage service calls and provide on-site support for their products, primarily serving the West Coast region.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and performing territory service work such as on-site installation and preventative maintenance
- Performing emergency service (territory) repair visits
- Providing remote telephone assistance
- Being available to travel at short notice in order to support other Field Service Engineers when needed
- Timely completion of all required documentation
- Communicating any product quality issues to the appropriate persons
- Working closely with Territory Sales personnel and Field Applications Specialists
- Responsible for account management, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction
- Obtaining and communicating leads, identifying post-instrument sales, upgrades, and consumables
Skills
- Proven Electro/Mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Ability to coordinate and manage own time to ensure emergency/preventive maintenance service calls are prioritized and followed through to completion
- Willingness to travel on average, about 50% overnight travel
- Availability to provide coverage for extended periods in other US territories
- Proximity to a major airport will be considered a plus
- International travel will be required for training purposes

- Education equivalent of at least an associate's degree or previous experience in an engineering discipline
- Highly organized with excellent follow-up skills
- Self-motivated, team player
- Ability to travel on short notice
