Summary
SunSource is one of North America’s leading value-add industrial distribution companies, focusing on industrial hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation components. The Automation Product Manager will penetrate the market within the Industrial Business Unit, achieving sales goals and providing technical assistance to field Account Managers.
Responsibilities
- Interface and coordinate with suppliers
- Strong understand of Automation Controls & Software
- Assess customer needs
- Specify products
- Prepare customer proposals, make customer presentation and resulting quotations
- Determine costs
- Service customers via telephone
- Service customers on site
- Develop technical drawings
- PLC/Software
- Manage products and supplier relationships
- Evaluate industry trends and new technology
Skills
- BS in ME/IE/EE or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years experience in a technical role for automation systems. Previous experience working for a distributor preferred
- Specific knowledge and experience with design, manufacture and integration of automated manufacturing, material handling, assembly and test equipment and mechanical and electrical design concepts and motion control
- Ability to develop creative cost-effective solutions to meet customer's needs
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and AutoCAD, PLC Programming and troubleshooting
- Codesys Experience requested
- I/O Link Experience requested
Qualifications
Must Haves
- BS in ME/IE/EE or equivalent preferred
